Ok today is November 15th, that means 15 more days and I am finished with my first semester here in Mexico!! Pretty awesome! I have learned that tacos de pastor are the best things I have ever eaten, no one likes americans, and to hold on to your valuable belongings at all times. Lets see, since my last blog, I have been to Hidalgo, Tolantongo, Guanajuato, San Juaquin, Janitzio, and other small places. Traveling is easy here because Queretaro is so close to everything! I have also been wine tasting, and let me tell you, Mexico has nothing on its wine compared to California. I think. In 25 days I am traveling to Cuba for 2 weeks!! Then I am going to Toluca which is in Mexico to spend Christmas with my Mexicans friends family. It is going to be awesome! After that, which is around January 7th, school starts back up again. It is really sad because the majority of people here that I am real good friends with are only here for a semester, so they are leaving in about 2 weeks. How sad. Hmmm what else. Oh, unfortunately I will not be able to take any more pictures because my camera has been stolen. Booo!! Oh well. On a lighter note, my Grandma Helen is turning 95, and I promised myself I would not return to the states until May, but In January I will be flying to Orlando Florida to celebrate her life. I am so excited!!! I will get to see my mom and dad for the first time since July, and I will get to hang out with my grandma. She is old, but she is SHARP!

I had a realization here. My major is global studies with a concentration in Latin America, but I am not really feelin it. So as soon as I return, I will be declared as a Film and Digital Media major. I have always had a passion in that area, so I am following it. We shall see what happens!

OH YESS it did work, enjoy
AHHHHHHHHHHH I just wrote such a good long post and my internet went away and now its gone. Sorry I don't think I can do it again

its already october???

I was doing some homework, and my computer was right in front of my face so I just couldn't deny facebook. I went on where there are "photo memories" there was some from love fest year, and I was like wowowowoow!! That was I believe a year ago tomorrow. Time is flying!! Love fest does not seem like that long ago. Weird. So In the past month, I have been in full swing with this hole teaching thing. I make lessons, and give tests and grades!! Its so much fun! I defiantly learn the most Spanish from them. All my Mexican friends speak perfect English, I don't get it! How are they so good, they have never studied abroad, or spoken English a lot, it just doesn't make sense. So that is a problem because they want to practice their English, and it is way easier and fun to actually communicate and fully understand what is being said. I feel like if I keep going at this rate, I won't fully learn....I got to change something! HMM I have traveled a lot! This month I am going to Puerta Vallarta, Hidalgo, maybe DF, and then 6 flags!! haha. Queretaro is right in the middle of Mexico, so its a great place to leave from, everything is really close!! It is fairly cheap to travel, so that always helps. The food is tooo good. Last night I went to a taco stand on the streets, and that place pumps out the food!! MAN! There was probably 100 people there eating. Anyways it was really good and it filled me up. I got 4 tacos for 15 pesos. Which is like one dollar and 30 cents. So cool!

On Thursday night there was the last Bienvenido dance, at this place called La Yunta. It was banda, watch it on youtube or something, I felt like I was on a ride. It was tooo much. I am learning a lot about the culture here. I have a Mexican culture class, and we are going to a field trip to the market, but the market that is for poor people. Then in my salsa class (this is for macy) so apparently next tuesday we are getting sized up and tryin on dresses! Whaaaa and then in 2 weeks we are performing in front of a HUGE!!! audience. We are following the steps in this order, milli, vuelta rada, ventana con cross, sexy, 70, adonde vas, vulta chida, milli con cross, and then pluma. OH BOY! I hope I get a good partner.

Partials this week again! Only 2 months till the semester is over and then I get a month off!! I am planning on going to Chiapas for two weeks and then I want to hit up the Peninsula. Any recommendations? I got attacked by a mosquito a couple nights ago, and my right foot looks like a sprained it, it is really big! There are approx. 17 bites on the right foot and like 9 on my left. Later

one month

So I have been living here is Mexico for a little over a month! It seems like longer, but the more that time goes on, time goes by faster. I am just starting to get the feel of everything. It is a really good feeling. The only problem is that I can speak better than I can understand. Its weird! I think I have trouble understanding because everyone talks so fast! But it is coming easier to me everyday. I am in a salsa class, and that was probably the best decision I could have made. It is sooo much fun and on the weekends, the class goes to barra habana, a salsa dancing club. It is a great time. Oh! So far, I have traveled to Ixtapa, Bernal, Mexico City, and the pyramids about an hour north from Mexico City. Next weekend I am planning to go to the Sierras for some mountain biking! So starting tomorrow, is parciales, otherwise known as midterms..uh ohhh! Haha, wish me luck!

Coming up on Sep. 15th is the bicentenario, which is Mexican independence day. I hear it is one huge party for like 3 days! I think it is going to be a good time. Mexicans know how to party. Well that is all I got for now. I will update this more often, I kind of forgot about it. Hasta luego!

first day

So today was my first full day in Mexico, and I think I am going to love this place. The city is so pretty! It is old, and a lot of history happened here, so there are a ton of monuments and buildings that stand out. If you look up Los Arcos de Queretaro, you will know what I am talking about. Its awesome! My school is called the Tec and it is filled with students from all over the globle. Some are even from South Korea. Crazy. I live in a small house in "el centro" and I get my own room with free wifi! The school has a swimming pool and a gym, and a computer lab, things I love. I might even try out for the soccer team. I am practicing my spanish, and I am learning more in this day, than I ever have in any spanish class that I have taken. Thats all for now. Adios!
